Fire & Stones is the literary and arts magazine created, designed, and published by the Upper School students at St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School in Alexandria, Virginia.
The work featured in each issue reflects a wide range of perspectives, experiences, and artistic approaches. Together, these voices create a publication that is both diverse and uniquely representative of our school community.
More than a magazine, Fire & Stones provides students with an opportunity to set aside grades, schedules, and expectations to share ideas, tell stories, and express themselves creatively. The publication is made possible through the dedication of student editors, contributors, and faculty advisors, whose work helps bring each issue to life.
Fire & Stones has received national recognition from the American Scholastic Press Association and the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), including First Place honors, Superior ratings, and Most Outstanding Private School Literary/Art Magazine award!
